MARÍA MAGDALENA VENDITTI

Ms. Venditti first specialized in energy and oil for 5 years, and then in environmental matters for the past 17. She advices national and multinational companies in administrative and regulatory matters, due diligences, audits and contracts with complex environmental issues. She has extensive experience in environmental remediation processes, and in the design of defense in environmental litigation, as well as in environmental liability and prevention mechanisms. She delivers trainings with focus in the compliance of legal standards, and environmental management.

She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires’s Law School in 1998, and as a student, she worked at the Judiciary. In 1999 and 2000, she took the Corporate Law Practice (PAE I and II for their Spanish acronym) courses at the Ibero-American Association for Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIRAD for its Spanish acronym). In 2000, she also completed the Postgraduate course in oil and gas law at the Argentine Catholic University, and a Seminar on Environmental Law at Universidad Austral.

In 1999 she was hired by Pecom Energía SA (today Pampa Energía S.A.), where she provided legal advice in connection with oil and gas. In 2000 through 2003, she worked for Bazan, Cambré & Orts, supporting different commercial areas, mainly oil and gas.

In 2003 she began working as senior attorney for the Environmental Area of Allende & Brea, until 2005, when she branched out with several partners of Allende & Brea into Rattagan Macchiavello Arocena -RMA-, where she was a partner from the beginning until early 2020.

In February 2020, together with three other members of RMA, she founded the firm Venditti Hierro Quinteros, Environmental Lawyers.

She was acknowledged –on several occasions- by the firm “Chambers & Partners” as referent in Argentine environmental law.

MARIANA C. HIERRO

Since she graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 2005, she specialized in Environmental Law, counseling many national and international companies in different environmental, industrial and hydrocarbon matters. She has broad experience in complex litigation before the Supreme Court, and Provincial and Federal Courts, preparing defense strategies in environmental liability and key technical environmental issues.

During 2006 and 2007, she completed the teacher training program at the University of Buenos Aires, and was teaching assistant in subjects connected with Environmental Law. In 2007, she completed the postgraduate course "Oil and Natural Gas Program" at the University of Buenos Aires and, in 2009, the IRAM course “IRAM-ISO 14 000 Standard Series. Tools for Environmental Management”.

After working as paralegal and junior attorney at the Environmental Area of Allende & Brea, in July 2005 she decided to join the Rattagan Macchiavello Arocena -RMA- firm, where she was partner from 2011 through early 2020.

In February 2020, together with three other members of RMA, she founded the firm Venditti Hierro Quinteros, Environmental Lawyers.

She has lectured in several local and international seminars, and was highlighted by Who’s Who legal in the Environmental Law area.  

She took active part in the Environmental Law Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Argentina, and in the environmental lawyers’ networks RIELA (Interamerican Network of Environmental Law Experts), and ELN (Environmental Law Network).

MARÍA CAROLINA QUINTEROS

Since 1998, she has specialized in Natural Resources and Environmental Law, counseling companies in the oil, energy and manufacturing sectors in matters of compliance with environmental standards, procedures to obtain environmental permits and authorizations, and complex remediation cases in polluted sites. She has conducted several environmental audits and due diligences in corporate purchase-sale transactions. She has a long track record in strategic management and counseling in both civil and administrative processes in connection with environmental matters, having participated in leading cases in the field.  

She earned her Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1997.

While she was a student, she worked at the Judiciary. In 1997 she earned the scholarship "Southwestern University of Law" to participate in the course on "International Protection of Human Rights ". In 2001 she completed a Postgraduate Degree of Environmental Law Specialization at Universidad Austral. During 2012/2013, she took the Postgraduate teacher training course at Universidad del Salvador, and she later taught the subject “Environmental Law”.

During 1998 she participated in the Project "Management of Environmental Conflicts in Central America " by the CEDARENA (Centro de Derecho Ambiental, San José de Costa Rica).

In 1999, she was recruited by the Environmental Area of Allende & Brea, where she worked as senior attorney until June 2005. Since then and until 2014 she was a partner of the Environmental Area at Rattagan Machiavello Arocena -RMA-. In 2017, she was reincorporated to RMA as Consultant, until early 2020.

In February 2020, together with three other members of RMA, she founded the firm Venditti Hierro Quinteros, Environmental Lawyers.

She has published different articles on Argentine Environmental Law. She has also conducted trainings and has lectured at congresses and seminars in connection with the environmental field.

She was ranked by PLC Which Lawyer? as leading lawyer in the Argentine Environmental Law field.

LUCÍA SESTO

For the past 12 years she has provided legal environmental advice to important companies in different industries: oil and gas, food, agriculture, domisanitary, cement, siderurgical, chemical manufacturers, etc. She has broad experience counseling on the applicability of environmental standards, and has collaborated in the defense in administrative sanctions procedures. She has extensive experience in conducting audits on legal environmental requirements, and safety and hygiene standards.

She has taken active part in the creation of an Environmental Management System, a tool that allows for the creation of matrices of legal requirements for environmental and safety & hygiene issues.

She earned her Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 2006, specializing in Corporate Law, with honors. During 2008 and 2009, she completed the specialization program on Environmental Law, offered jointly by the University of Belgrano and the Colegio de Abogados de Sevilla (Seville’s Bar Association).

In 2012, she completed training as Internal Auditor of ISO 14.001:2004 Environmental Management Systems at TÜV Rheinland Argentina S.A. and Bureau Veritas Argentina S.A.

As an undergraduate student, she worked at a law firm with specialization in Tax Law, and at the beginning of 2007, she started working at a law firm with specialization in Corporate Law. From 2008 through early 2020, she worked as senior attorney at Rattagan Macchiavello Arocena —RMA ‘s Environmental Area.

Among other publications, she authored the Argentine chapter of “The Comparative Legal Guide to: Environmental Law and Climate Change”, published by Global Legal Group, in the editions of 2011, 2013, 2015 y 2016.
